Only one person can maintain it
The logic sits in one person's head. A small change risks breaking formulas that several other sheets depend on.
Excel & Google Sheets
Expert O'clock builds and repairs spreadsheets that a business depends on: templates, trackers, calculators, models, dashboards, and the macros that connect them. Every build is structured, tested, and documented so your team can maintain it.
Common starting points
The issue usually begins with unclear definitions, fragmented sources, or a manual process that no longer matches the business.
01
The logic sits in one person's head. A small change risks breaking formulas that several other sheets depend on.
02
Data is pasted between files each week with no validation, version control, or check that totals still agree.
03
A tracker that started small now holds years of data, takes minutes to recalculate, and supports decisions it was never designed for.
A dependable spreadsheet separates inputs, calculations, and outputs. We build templates and tools with protected formulas, data validation, clear labels, and a structure that survives new rows, new users, and next year's assumptions.
For finance and commercial work, that includes pricing and margin calculators, budget and forecast models, cash flow views, and scenario switches that show the effect of changing an assumption.
Not every reporting need justifies a BI platform. When the data is modest, the audience is limited, or the work already lives in a workbook, we build pivot-based dashboards, KPI summaries, and exception views directly in Excel or Google Sheets.
Where reporting outgrows the spreadsheet, we say so and set out the path to Power BI, Looker Studio, or a database, so the file is not forced to do work it cannot support.
We use VBA in Excel and Apps Script in Google Sheets to remove repetitive steps: importing files, cleaning formats, refreshing reports, generating documents, and distributing outputs. Scripts include error handling and a clear failure message rather than stopping silently.
We also say when a macro is the wrong answer. If Power Query, a standard formula, or a small database removes the need for custom code, that is the more durable option.
Every build includes a short written guide, a documented structure, and a walkthrough. Formulas and scripts are explained in plain language, and workbooks are versioned so changes can be traced.
The aim is a file your team can open, understand, and extend without depending on the person who built it.
Expert O'clock is based in Gujrat, Pakistan and works remotely with clients across the United Kingdom, the United States, and worldwide. Communication, file access, review points, and handover are agreed before work starts.

We build it, test it, and hand it over.
Usually, yes. We review the structure, formulas, and failure points first. If repairing the file is cheaper and safer than a rebuild, we recommend that. A rebuild is only proposed when the current design cannot support the work.
Yes. The right choice depends on how the file is used. Excel offers VBA and Power Query; Google Sheets offers shared access and Apps Script. We build in the tool that fits your team's environment and explain the tradeoffs.
Yes. Budgets, forecasts, cash flow, pricing, and scenario models are scoped around the decisions the model must support and the assumptions that need to be visible and auditable.
When data volume, simultaneous users, permissions, audit requirements, or repeated manual consolidation exceed what a workbook can handle. We assess that honestly and, where needed, build the migration path.
Most spreadsheet builds and repairs are scoped at one to two weeks. Larger models or multi-file tools depend on the number of inputs, rules, and outputs involved.

Sheets automation works best when the trigger and failure path are designed first. Formulas, notifications, and Apps Script cover different parts of the workflow.
Data validation prevents many input errors, but only if the rules match the real work. Design lists, ranges, and custom checks that survive paste and handover.
A pricing calculator is a small model with large consequences. Separate cost, margin, discount, and quote logic so every price can be explained and checked.
Rows move, references follow, and a total quietly changes. Learn how Excel stores cell addresses, then design ranges that survive routine edits.
Data validation shapes what users enter; protection limits what they can change. Together they prevent most spreadsheet accidents, but neither is security.
