Finance automation

AR/AP reporting & reconciliation

Invoices, payments, and aging were tracked across multiple Excel tabs. Reconciliation exceptions were easy to miss, and the month-end view required repeated manual checks.

The reconciliation challenge

AR/AP reporting is only useful when invoices, payments, and aging can be reconciled and the unresolved items are visible. A spreadsheet with many tabs can hold the data, but the relationships and exceptions become difficult to control as activity grows.

The project focused on a repeatable reporting pack and a clear exception view for unmatched items.

The automation approach

The build used Excel, VBA, and Power Query. The workflow brought the relevant data into a more repeatable process and surfaced exceptions instead of allowing them to disappear inside manual reconciliation.

The output was designed for the finance process rather than as a generic automation demonstration.

The outcome

The delivered result was a repeatable AR/AP pack with a clear exception view. Client identity remains withheld.

Confirmed outcome

A repeatable AR/AP pack with a clear exception view.
