The reporting challenge
The source data reflected the realities of a multi-site operation: store-level sales, stock, and operating information needed to be combined before management could compare performance. A manual consolidation process made the reporting slow and increased the risk of inconsistent treatment between locations.
The priority was not another layer of charts. It was a repeatable reporting view with agreed source handling, consistent location comparisons, and a refresh process the team could understand.
- Consolidate store-level data into a common reporting structure
- Create one view across 22 locations
- Make refreshes repeatable instead of rebuilt by hand
- Keep the reporting process understandable and auditable
The reporting approach
The reporting pack combined Excel, Power Query, and a reporting dashboard. Power Query supported the preparation and consolidation of store data, while the final dashboard provided the comparison view across locations.
The work focused on making the source-to-report path explicit so the team could refresh the reporting and explain how the totals were produced.
The outcome
The delivered result was one reporting view across 22 locations with a repeatable refresh process. Client identity remains withheld.
Confirmed outcome
One reporting view across 22 locations, with a repeatable refresh process.
